Couple of issues
« on: 04 April 2007, 11:54 »
Hi, just wondering if any one could help with these!

1) To open the boot with the key fob what do you have to do? I have pressed it once, holded it, but it still wont do it! I will try the other key fob tonight and see if that makes a difference but just wondered if I was doing any thing wrong.

2) Am I right in thinking that you can't lift the windscreen wipers up for when washing the car! If so this a madness!

thank you

Nath

I was told by my dealer not to use the tailgate button on the fob, as people often put their keys in the boot and lock themselves out, as that bitton only opens the boot.

If I want to open the boot, I just press the unlock button twice quickly and it opens all the doors, including the boot.

I've found the boot button a bit odd. Seems to work after 23 (ish) presses!

With regard the wipers, you need to 'park' them. It's in the manual, but something like ignition on and off, press down on wiper stalk once. They then park upright, which is ok, but remember not to get the screen squeeky clean and dry before you need to put them down!

Hi mate,

I found out you can lift the wipers up, from the passenger side, but you have to be careful as they can catch on the bonnet.

Thanks for that, I will have a look in the manual, i must not have got to that bit yet!

I woudn't want to risk marking the bonnet lifting them up.

Your right about parking the wipers. They are also disabled when the bonnet is open.

All this stuff is in the manual. But this thread makes good reading also:-

Righty . . .

The boot release - the centre button is an "anti-hijack" security feature, which enables you to keep the main doors locked whilst loading the boot - handy at Tesco (every little helps) !!!

To work it properly, you need to press AND HOLD the button on the remote for about 2 seconds - when you should be able to hear the mechanism unlock.  This is confirmed by a flash from the indicators.  You then need to use the actual boot lid handle, to open the tailgate as normal.  If you don't open the tailgate within two minutes, it will auto-lock again.  It will also auto-lock immediately on closing, and the alarm re-set will be confirmed by indicator flash.

Also, if your doors are unlocked, the tailgate will also auto-lock at speeds over 5mph - handy, if you want to stop Paula Radcliffe from thieving your groceries!!  :nerd:  :smug:
