Offset / Stud dimater
« on: 03 April 2007, 11:06 »
Hello,

For a Mk 3 Golf GTi (8v - 96 P), is the stud diameter 5 x 112 and the offset ET 38?

Will the 17" Santa Monica's from the mk 4 GTi fit without any problems onto a Mk 3 GTi?

Thanks

the stud diameter on the mk3 gti is 5x100. not too sure about the offset think its around 32-38, not 100% sure tho.

Ace is right for both, you can get adapters. Not sure where from and if you can get adapters for 100 to 112 though sorry.
Virtually everything I know about the workings of the internal combustion engine can be written on the back of a small stamp with a large marker

cant get adaptors for 5x100 - 5x112.

IIRC there is too much overlap making them unsafe!

but yea, the mk3 is 5x100, and im pretty sure standard offset is 36, or possibly 38  :undecided:

8v are 100 and the 16v and VR6 are 112. If you have the latter you can invest in lovely new audi wheels

^^^^^^^^

you live in a different world from the rest of the mk3 clan then.....

if you have anything other than a gti/vr6 it will have 4x100 pcd (4 stud) , 8v gti , 16v gti and 2.8 vr6 all share the same 5x100 pcd (5 stud) pattern , the offset ranges between 32-38 any of these you be fine......

and yes mk4 golf 'santa monicas' will fit youll need lower profile tyres than what they use on the mk4 though....

My PCD on my mk3 16v 5 stud are 112, hence fitting Audi RS4 alloys

wrong.... - 4 points....

you have rs4 'copy' alloys.... which run the 5x100 stud pattern.....

thankyou please

or you may have wheel adaptors, but i doubt that as they would stick out more
