I'd have been tempted if they had done a 5 door with DSG

Yes that is the price difference with that spec.
golf was costing £27135.
S3 costing £29545.
S3 price should have been £30045 but got £500 discount, only got £100 of ed 30.
Not bad I think.

I almost went for the S3, but when I spec'ed the car up it came to just over £33k!  . Maybe it was just me getting a bit carried away, but it was basically similar in spec to the Ed30 that I'm getting, and that came to just over £26k.  In the end I decided that the S3 wasn't worth another £7k more than the Ed30, so plumped for the golf.  The limited number of the Golf also helped me make up my mind.  Admittedly the Audi is a little more classy  :embarassed:, but not £7k!

With the extra £7k you could have bought another motor. Perhaps a Lupo GTi

I was exactley the same mate, Once I put on what i wanted the car was really really expensive! Think mine came to around 32K and for the price difference it just was not worth it!

My thoughts exactly. How's the running in going on your Ed30 Nathan? Been out much on the lovely Northumberland roads during this cracking weather?
