There is a guy who wants to fit a spoiler to a non Gti so maybe I can do a swap!
Probably have to get a Windscreen company to do it though as not sure I fancy DIY!

sit in the boot and push with your feet at the top corners, or start at one corner, you have to push pretty hard but controlled, then just make sure there is someone there to catch it, works everytime!

Oh o.k.

But what about sealing it again? A kind of mastic?

It would appear to be joe, all you can see outside is the glass and then a gap to the metal of the hatch.

have found some glass bonding stuff on ebay.

I guess if I run a fillet knife around the glass on the inside it should come out.

you could alway retain the rubbers in the rear screen and "fill" the holes with a bolt and seal it from the inside with a nut. I have replaced my standard spoiler with a mk3 aftermarket one I modified to fit. I am going to use the holes to mount a high level brake light when I get round to fab a mount bracket for it.

I am keeping the standard brake light, which is why I wanted a new spoiler without one.
The bolts sound a good idea mate, thanks.
