annoying little problem

Hello All,

I have recently noticed that my 91 8v, which is fitted with a quantum alarm(dealer or factory fit - I think).  When you activate the alarm or deactivate the alarm via the keypad only the passenger side indicators flash?  The drivers side indicators don't flash? Indicators work normal for driving though..

Thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem and if it is a quick fix like a fuse.

Does the alarm work ok?
probably just a dislodged wire

Yep the alarm works fine, tested it today in garage need new ear drum...LOL :D

sounds like the wire to make the other side flash has come adrift.

Its normally patched into by the fusebox, You need to look at your wiring diagrams and trace the indicator wires to see whats happened.

Have we got any alarm installers out there who would know for sure?

i think they are normally colour coded. one mine they are orange

albo's mk3 has only ever flashed one of the rear indicator's when arming the alarm  :-\ dealer fit jobbie again

and lives in a world of it's own with sometimes dropping the windows half way when you disarm it!

sometimes there connected either side left and right in the engine bay.... at the indicators or sometimes there at the steering colum either at the hazzard warning button or the normal indicator switch........
or at the fuse box......

check to see if all the wires from the back of the alarm go into the car throught the baulkhead if they all do then its connected at either the steering colum or fusebox.... you could follow the alarm wires to see where they go......

they normaly leave the indicator wires in the engine bay and connect them up like ive said at the indicators......front ones only and yes if they are connected this way the back ones still flash by the alarm...
as the front and back are connected together the only time all of them left and right side are connected is at the hazard warning switch...
