200K plus worth keeping?
« on: 31 March 2007, 23:22 »
My mark 2 has done over 200k now still going strong, although when i have to mess about with it i think would it really be worth getting a lower mileage example as i am having troubles with old seams leaking etc. Who has high milers and do they have similar problems? bodywork is fairly tidy though. Cheers
i must buy a new car!

220k 8v gti, just had tappets replaced (£Â£Ã‚£!) but sounds smooth now  and valve stem seals want doing but i'd rather just top it up with oil.

i bought mine as a cheap high-miler so i shall run it till it dies... anyone fancy 300k on one of these?

I don't think a semi will give the same results

the Rado is on 178k now and all is still good, no smoke or rattles (touch wood) and only 1 minor oil leak (rocker cover gasket) that i have not got round to fixing yet. High miles really does not bother me, i would much rather buy a mint high miler than a tatty lower mileage car after all if the engine does blow up its just an excuse for an upgarade......
