Swapping door mirror glass
« on: 30 March 2007, 10:39 »
Sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find anything relavent by searching.

One of my mirrors was bent out of shape so I bought a replacement, however the glass in the original mirror is in better nick (the new one having the edges all brown where the silver backing has gone funny) and I wondered if they can be swapped?

Didn't want to break anything by just pulling at it!

what a paint this is to do! Mine has gone brown round the edges aswell!
I am yet to find the 'proper' way of doing it but when ive done it and whenever ive seen people doing it they have just pulled it out- good luck.

try any tilt the mirror down as much as you can so that you can see behind the mirror and use something that can prod ( trim remover tool) the small clips off.
