I'd be tempted by Toyo T1R's for £90 each plus fitting.

I think £144 is good for PS2's, they used to be £190 a corner on for my 3 series.

Try www.mytyres.co.uk and www.blackcircles.com before you buy.

But remember to account for fitting costs if you buy online 'supply only. Blackcircles offer a fitted price and usually are pretty cheap.

Heard a few horrer stories about Blackcircles.  One is that they turn up to a nearby industrial estate in their mobile unit and fit them there and then.  I've then heard that a few tyres have split after only a small amount of use and you have difficulty getting them to refit new tyres due Blackcircles being mobile.  Its not as though you can nip back down the road to the supplier where you got them from.  IMO for the sake of a few pounds, I'd go with your local dealer.  The price you've been quoted seems pretty reasonable to me for 18" Michelins as they are one of the best.  Has anyone on here had problems using Blackcircles?  I just tend to use them as a price guide/bargining tool with dealers when it comes round for tyre renewal.  Although I always find it difficult to price match as Blackcircles have little in the way of overheads, hence the cheap prices.  Any thoughts?

Never had any problems here but I've always had the tyres delivered to a fixed fitter, not a mobile affair.

By dealer do you mean VW?  They are quoting £172 per tyre.  The local guy (who my brother in law has used) is quoting £144.70.

Probably the best way to go, I just know my retailer won't touch them for some reason, hence the mobile affair where I live.

Sorry should have been clearer  :embarassed:.  By dealer I meant your local tyre retailer, I find the independant ones best, but I have gotten a good deal from Kwick Fit before and they were very gentle when handling the alloys, which is something you really have to watch.  I've had marked alloys before when I wasn't paying particular attention to what they were doing.

Did/has anyone considered the tyre package through the Dealers.

It costs me £7 a month and covers me for worn replacement tyres. What's more is that they said they would replace the tyre with the same make...and I have Conti's

Over 3 years this costs £252, so if you replace even 2 tyres you have your money back
