This is basically what I done to time my valver!
- Engine up to operating temp (fan kicks in, oil temp above 800C
- Switch off.
- Unscrew green plug on top of gearbox.
- Mark your 6BTDC with tippex make it easier to see! You may need to turn engine so that you can see your marks. I put it into fourth gear and pushed or pulled car slowly until I could see the marks!

- Disconnect red connector at coil.
- Loosen dizzy bolts, so that it moves but not so that it spins!
- Connect timing light as per instructions.
- Start engine.
- Point timing light into the gearbox "hole".
- you should see the marks - if you're timing is anywhere near!
- Move the dizzy until you can see the marks.
- Carefully adjust the dizzy until you get the big 6BTDC mark lined up with the mark on the gearbox housing.
- Swith off.
- Tighten Dizzy Bolts.
- Have a final check if you want!
- Re-connect red lead under coil.
- Take it for a spin!!!
I had to adjust the idle slightly while seeting the timing.
You will probably now need to check the CO setting.
