Ahhhh mpg issue's

My 2.0 8v show's 25mpg as average but 35-38 on a run....

wat sort of speeds are involved with that reading?

is your 25 average all from city driving, or a combo of city and motorway?

at motorway speed's (70-80ish) i get 35-38 and 25 is a mix of town and main road driving.. if I only drive in town with traffic It show's about 15mpg (or less when really bad traffic..It did show 3.2mpg coming out of vw festival last year!!!)

awesome mate... youve just made me feel 1000% better.

ive been getting around 25-27 on my drives back and forth to work, which is about 7 miles, mostly dual carriage way, but traffic can be sh*t.

anyways, i was thinkin that 25 was a bit low, and that maybe i was having overfueling problems, exhaust pipes are pretty black as well, which was making me parinoid lol  :embarassed:

My fuel gauge tends to drop a gallon then work its way back up.  I tryed to work out my MPG but it kept doing it.

I have the exact same problem with the lost fuel that comes back gradually. Wonder if its a common fault on mk3s?
