However, you miss the point. Modern cars these days have around 35 different ECUs, and the body control ECU which would work the magnetic dampers would be completely different between the Golf and the TT.
How exactly do you know this TT - Exactly??
Its not a 'body control' feature - its a change of a magnetic field within the damper.
Why does it have anything to do with the ECU? As i remember some of the more funky Jap dampers have a controller straight from damper to dash switch - after market, therefore no change to ECU.
Ohhh - you may be right about the magnetic dampers. I presumed they would be
adjustable via electro-magnets, hence the need for ECU control.
But - if they are not electro-magnets - what actually adjusts the magnetic field?
Regarding the Jap stuff, well what use would a dash mounted switch be? Surely you would want them to by fully adaptive - automatically, and not frantically fiddling with buttons, whilst giving it the beans on a series of twisties. Just imagine, mid corner, in a long series, not liking current handling, fiddle with switch, fiddle again, fiddle yet again - smash - car wrapped around a tree!
