im only 18 so insurance would be to high :( But in about 2 years time im going to buy a GTI 16V and carry all the mods accross onto it. Or drop in a new engine. Not sure yet. Right now my main problem is working out what to do with the arches / side skirt and getting it tinted.

Not yet no. To be honest ive not done much to the motor except the new exhausts. As far as i knew the only thing i could really do to a 1.6 to make it faster was to remove the carb and fit a K&N replacement filter with a cold air pipe running up to it. If anyone knows how i can get more performance out of it it would be a great help  :D

yes stick an 8v GTi cam and exhaust manifold on it - this will bring you upto or near std mk2 8v GTi performance

they are a straight swap

yes the extra lift of the cam and the easier flowing of the manifold will help greatly.

and dont be going to GSF and buying them new!!  get them from a scrappy or look around for people breaking 8v's
