ED 30 DSG pick-up Wednesday
« on: 23 March 2007, 12:04 »
Hi All,

Well it's been a long wait but it's almost over.

Pick up my new shiny ED 30 on Wednesday next week

ED 30 5 door
DSG
Cruise (retro fit at dealers for £150 instead of £270 on options list)
Reflex Silver
Tinted windows rear of B pillar
IPod prep in armrest
GAP insurance (£50 off at dealer)
Full tank of super
£300 of list

Ordered 18th Jan (week 3)
Week 8 build date
Week 13 delivery
So 10 weeks from order to collection

Future plans:-

Sat nav (although unsure which way to go yet)
Definitely Full Milltek system
Unsure about Bluefin and so will see how happy I am with the car over the first six months and look out for any +'s or -'s around Bluefins on other ED 30's.

Dealer did confirm that they are having problems with transport abroad and shipping, but once in this country all is well.

Can't say I loved the wait, but only 5 days and counting

Hope some of this helps all you who are still waiting.

Hurdy you lucky chap, I'm so envious.  Mine is being built next week, so hopefully all should be well for my planned del date in May.  Make sure you post some pics as your spec is similar to mine. As a matter of interest, did you specifically ask for super unleaded, as I've got a full tank of juice for my car as part of the deal and am tempted to go back and ask them to make sure its super?

Hi Hully,
Yes, I did ask specifically for super.
I suppose there is still nothing to stop them putting regular in as who would know!

I was thinking the exact same thing! Still, no harm in asking is there.  Look forward to seeing the pics of your new machine.  Enjoy.

Realistically, on a brand new car, you really shouldn't be needing the extra performance from the super unleaded, so it really shouldn't be too much of an issue!

Agreed, but why not get that little bit more from the dealer if its not costing you anything?

You're in for a treat next Wednesday mate!

I have TomTom mobile on my N-series phone (nokia N80).  It really is excellent, and when combined with the bluetooth phone prep, you get all the instructions in glorious stereo as well as cutting out the loud music/radio.
