Correct tyre pressure
« on: 22 March 2007, 20:21 »
Well, in the end i had to call someone out to get my wheels off for me as they were proper seized on. The steering is off now and not in sync with my wheels. Getting the wheels balanced will sort this out correct? Anyways, just wondering what tyre pressure would be the best. Its a 93 1.4 with 195/50/15's, Yokohama's. At most, it will only be me and my gf in the car. thanks

its the tracking & alignment thats out mate, 26 to 28 for the tyre pressures will keep them off the sidewalls but not make the ride too harsh.

Wheel balance only affects the speed wobble type of problems not the tracking. Its only about £20 to get that done at a garage or kwiksh!t.

oh ok, 26 to 28? doesn't that seem a bit low? i just wanna a standard, normal tyre pressure for my wheels. how much does it cost to get the tracking done? thanks

tracking is like i said about £20 if the adjusters arent seized etc, and you'll find putting 30psi or more in the tyres will make them overhard and bloody scary in a wet bend believe me. 28 is about right but 26 is ok if you like softer grippy feel when cornering. With light loads this is good and perfect in wet or slippy conditions.
