passat turbo maybe?

bought a passat at auction T Reg 1999 136k paid £1500 for it lovely car  :D very happy with her, just got one niggle.

bought it as a 1.8 20v, log book reflects this no mention of a T or turbo but on the boot lid there is 1.8T and ive looked at the engine and i cant be 100% sure its definitly a 20v but i cant see a turbo or intercooler but its dark outside now and i can see infront of the radiator to see if there is anything there. any easy way to tell ?  bare in mind i dont have a full log book yet only the small slip to get me tax.

surely if you stick your foot flat on the floor you'll know if its got a turbo.
unless its buggered anyway.
Probably not much help but don't know a lot about the new vw's but i would think the performace will vary greatly between 20v and 20vt

it shud b on the left side ov ur engine bolted 2 the manifold,

passat engines are mounted sideways, that part is under the tray under the windscreen first thing i looked for, im pretty sure its a non turbo and some bright spark put a T on the back at some point. the lid is original as far as i can tell its never been replaced.

im aware that it is not a tranverse engine, the turbo if it has 1 will be on the drivers side ov ur engine bay

been over everything and im pretty sure its not cheers, after all the looking inside the service book it states 92kw 180020v and im pretty sure i read somewhere then turbo is 110 and the non is 90 something kw plus no sign of T or turbo anywhere. why they didnt just stick it on the cover i dont know lol would have saved me some worrying.

The non-turbo 20v engine in Golfs is 125bhp, not sure about Passats though.

its same 125bhp infact its same engine just a previous owner wanted to look like an idiot and put a T on it when its not :S
