Sticking clutch pedal
« on: 16 March 2007, 14:02 »
Hey all, i have a problem in my 90 8v gti, when i press the (heavy, admittedly) clutch, the pedal will more often than not stick down, i'm sure its a problem with the pedal hinge more than the clutch itself as the pedal squeeks when pressed (perhaps a tight bearing on the hinge?). This leaves me having to twist my ankle sideways and use the bottom of my shoe to try and 'hook' the pedal to biting point, which makes pulling away interesting to say the least. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas of what it may be, or failing that, how to remove the clutch pedal? (the haines book of lies is no real help)

Thanks in advance

I have this problem in the Rallye. The clutch pedal gets stuck in the lower trim in the footwell area.
