Milltek, wots resonated or non-resonated

hi iv just been looking on awesome GTI at milltek systems but wot is the differents between non-resonated and resonated cat back system.

And another question, it say below Golf Mk4 1.8T/1.9TDI Milltek resonated cat-back Discreet wot does discreet mean, does it just mean you cant see the exhaust like the standard gti exhaust system is like.

The non-res system has the 'straight through' or non-silenced centre section, whereas the res system has the (you guessed it) the silenced centre section. :wink:

Correct.  Also means you can keep your current/standard valance.  :smiley:

thanks, will they give the same BHP increase when i get a revo or is the non-res system better. I dont want a load exhaust.

Non-res will be louder, but apparently will give SLIGHTLY more gains due to less back pressure, & vice versa.

I have a resonated Blueflame cat-back on mine & I wouldn't want it any louder, TBH.  (I am 30 now, after all  LOL!!!)

It's no louder on tickover, gives a nice growl when you boot it & isn't 'boomy' when cruising at speed on motorways.
