you could make the inlet and exhaust ports bigger to the same size as the gaskets.

If I were going that far, I'd do the whole lot. Possibly even go for first size overbore and new pistons. Depends on budget of course, but if you've got the money why do things by halves?

If the bores are ok ( no scratches or ridges) then just bearings and rings.
As for the head valve stem seals shoulld be all you need, with a good decoke and valve grind.

this is what i was thinking rather than porting it just getting a f**kin' good polish on it, i havent got the money @bluefox, really, but alas! it was very tappety, and the seals are a definate, and lapping/grinding in the valves would make sense to.. obviously thoughout all this its gonna get a nice chunky coat of hammerite and tidy it up..

ill have to get some photos of it as well, cause at the oen side where its bee sat outside for 6 months not running, the wheel which the gearbox goes onto, got 6 bolts onto the crankshaft (flywheel?) is quite rust mucky, needs a good clean, should be fine with a tidy so.. and then itll be stored properly.. wont be done anytime soon, probably find my engine in the car now will pop before i do this one, but tid be nice to have a spare engine
