You may find that these are pre-registered, which is fine and still new, just makes you the second owner.
If they are pre-registered, then they are NOT new.
This makes a crucial difference with insurance. The vast majority of full-comp policies offer a new-for-old within the first 12 months - but only if you are the
original owner! A little more detail: if your car is written off, or stolen and not recovered, at any time during the first 12 months, it will automatically be replaced with an identical spec brand new car, even if the car is 364 days old! This would be a considerable difference from the "market value"!
Pre-reg cars
may be OK for bog-standard or run of the mill cars, like say Corsa/Fiesta/Polo/Focus/Astra/Moandeo/Vectra, etc - but on high value, highly desireble (especially limited editions) cars, then pre-reg is a high risk strategy!
All I would say is double check, and if you're not bothered save a grand!
Yes, but that inital £1k saving will also be diluted somewhat when it comes to resale, as the number of owners increases, the value takes a noticeable hit!
