It doesn't say it's CAT1 approved, and at that price i doubt it is. The proxy sensors etc at the bottom you have to pay seperately for, just a dual proxy sensor on its own is 50 squid

Seems OK but check the fitting prices, for the alarm to do anything for your insurance they will need a copy of the alarms fitting certificate that is emboss stamped

Yeah it does look good reading through it again, has the button for the bonnet so the alarm will go off if the bonnet is opened, also it will wire up to the internal boot light, so if someone opens the boot, the light will switch on which will set the alarm off. Check with your insurance as to whether they will take the alarm into consideration when sorting your premium. Paying that price i would seriously consider sending him a message asking how much to add a proxy sensor, they're awesome. Far better deterrent than a sticker or LED because the alarm will beep several times whenever anyone gets withing 1-2 foot of the car depending on how the sensitivity is set.

Are the proxy sensors also known as "microwave" sensors? I did a search on ebay for proxy and proximity and didn't come up with much.

Yep the toad ones they call microwave sensors. Mine's in the roof lining so it doesn't have to stick out anywhere on the car, it just has a small screw that sets the sensitivity

Ok cool. So if I bought that toad alarm and a microwave sensor, I could get it all set up just fine? Or would I need something else?
