Folks, This is my first post and I would appreciate some advice. I am awaiting my new Gti MK5 ETA 2 or so weeks. I have bought a MFD2 DVD 1K0 035 198 C for the car on Ebay. I am aware I can hide anantenna under the dash however would like if poss to have VW shark fin fitted as would have been done had this been fitted at the factory. I did try to change my order and get factory SATNAV but was too late. Any how is this easy to do ? Would it involve running a new cable to the radio \ SATNAV or is it just a matter of swapping the antenna ? The company who are transferring my Sony HCB 300 are happy to fit/exchange the existing SATNAV however were unhappy (understandably nervous) about changing the aerial having not done this before on a MK V golf.
Many thanks
Spider

Are you sure you want to do that the bee sting is classic GTI, IMO.

This might help Spider

I did this today!!!  I went for the same shark fin - as my aerial got torn off by my garage door (very careless after 1 day of ownership!!)  I managed without removing half the stuff they did.  I just took off the roof edge trim and undid the 2 nuts... then reached in and did it!  Pretty rough on the hands, but saves a lot of hassle!
The only problem is that now I have no AM signal at all - just like all the people on that forum who did it!
Perhaps this will change when I fit an aftermarket stereo?
