Need help on pricing

Right im trying to sell my golf gti 16v 2.0 abf 97 mot till jan08 tax 07/07 blistein suspension kit Clifford alarm and leather interior 116500 on the clock was asking £1999 but now lowered it to £1750 is this to much or something had loads of intrest but i am not selling it for £1200 i would rather break it and sell it of for parts what do you think

the mileage is a bit on the high side but not scary so i think the price you want is about right providing you have a decent service history.

yea i got full service history up until 111000 and after that every receipts and work carried out has been kept. thanks

Got my 8V Mk3 R reg 98 got 140K on the clock with FSH cost me £1200 Nov last year. Mileage a bit scary for me but I dont drive a lot

Needed a service and a bit of bodywork

Sound like your car is in good nick yabbie so its deffo worth what you asking. Have you stuck it on the trader ?

When I was looking for mine, 16Vs were going for silly money £2500 and up. You might just have to wait for the right person, with 1 years MOT and 6 months tax time is on your side  :wink:

Hi,

I just sold a P plate 16v with 125,000 for £1050. The car had all the old MOT's and some service history upto 80K (3 years ago). It had a new MOT and tax until April. The bodywork was good with no rust but it did have some scratches and 2/3 dents...

I needed a quickish sale and waiting about 2 months before it sold.

I've seen them sell for a lot more than I got on Ebay but I needed a quick sale. I'd try putting on there and see what happens. They seem to go for 1000 - 2000 depending on condition.

The whole Mk3 market seems to have slowed down recently.

ebay is OK but the big problem with selling cars is the charges.

It doesnt cost you a lot to put it on (~£6) and you can put loads of pics for free but the charges after it has sold are a killer.  :angry:

Sold my missus old polo on there for £150 and it was knackered, there was no way anyone would have bought it in the real world. The charges for selling it were over £10.

So if you stick it on ebay, my advice is overprice due to the charges you will get or put your contact number the auction on so people can ring / come see it and hopefully do a cash deal. Then say it didnt sell.

Just to but in, my mate is looking for a 16v and I have shown him this thread, but milage is a bit high for him! keep telling him about vw rep so wait and see!
