Low Outside Temp Chime
« on: 01 March 2007, 23:21 »
When the temp falls below 4 deg, there used to be a chime and the display would start flashing.  Its stopped making the chime!!  Where does this chime live?  Still makes the BEEEEP when the boot is open etc and the lights on buzzer still works which is puzzling.

Sorry to drag up a thread from years ago but I can't find any other information and the above is exactly what I want to ask! Anyone know where the chime lives? I've never had one and I'm jealous!!

Thanks

Probably a setting in Vag -Tacho which is the programme that plugs in to control functions in the dash pod...

Ah no. Was hoping it would be a tinkering about in the sun job! I don't think it chimes when the boot opens either

Thanks anyway

if it doesn't chime when the boot is open then the micro switch has gone

as for the temp gauge i'm not sure  :undecided:

I thought it was the microswitch cos the lights in the boot weren't coming on but I fitted a new catch. My lights work when the boots open now but still no chime. Ah well it's only a little niggle, I'm sure I can live with it. Enjoy the sun today!

The chime at 4oC and the "boot open beep" are different. The boot open is "BEEP" and the low temp is more of a "chime"....
Just to add to the confusion!!!

So, just to clarify, the "beep" is a beep, whereas the "chime" is more of a chime?
