Was just wondering if anybody has the correct spec for oil pressure for the above engine. I've been having a few issues of late, mainly with the oil light flashing at idle when hot, so I've had the sump off and cleaned the strainer (which was a little manky!)
This has almost totally eradicated the problem, but very occaisionally, it surfaces again - mainly when the idle dips a little low. I'm aware of the operation of the 2 switches, and the buzzer, but the haynes manual is a little vauge regarding min and max oil pressure figures.
I am getting the following:
Engine cold - 3 bar @ idle, rising to 7 bar regulated @ about 2500rpm upwards.
Engine hot (fan in, and oil temp 90deg C) 0.5 bar @ idle (maybe a littl lower) and 4-5 bar @ 5000rpm - maybe not reaching regulated pressure?
I'm using GTX Maganatec (10w/40) because it's free, so anything thicker I'll have to buy!
