ME COLD!!!

 >:( my car heaters are crap. There is hardly any power in the ehaters when you turn them on full whack.

Hardly any heat comes from them, so as you can imagine in these - degree temperatures- im pretty cold!  :-[

Any thoughts?

does your fan work on all 3 setting?, does it blow any heat at all

might be worth your while giving the blower a bit of a service with wd-40, and some grease - loosen it up a bit

then flush the coolant and refill properly to prevent any airlocks

also, your bypass valves may be knackered

Sorry to hi-jack your post but...

My heaters take their time to get to temperature but once they are and I'm driving at a reasonable speed (30mph+) the heat becomes really intense.  If I'm then made to stop in traffic the heat disappears and cold or colder air is blown out.

Any ideas?

Sweety- my fan was crap until i had to change the heater matrix, the old one was manked and blocked up, now flows sweet! but i think the by-pass valve is f**ked cos the best i can manage is, luke warm!

Mirrage- What temp dose your car run st, dose the fan kick in when ever you stop? When my fan kicks in If i've been sittin in traffic ect, i get a cold rush off water thourgh the system and my blowers try to freeze my nuts off......

Mines are the opposite.  Whilst sitting still you get a nice heat from then but as soon as you start driving, the heat goes from nice to lukewarm.

my heater used to be brilliant until sat in traffic and oil temp would rise to 100 then it would blow freezing cold air.
changed heater matrix and the rubber hoses from bulkhead and all seems fine. the hose from bulk head which goes to the metal pipe on engine had a slight kink. now everthing seems a ok.
and im glad as its fecking freezing out there

If it goes cold when at a standstill could be the water pump, the impellor can rust away making waterflow a bit crap over time. so when at low engine revs its not moving the water well.
