Depends how big the chip is, but if you have a steady hand, you can make a good job by just using a touch up pencil.  Make sure you have an old cloth with you, just in case you put too much paint on, so you can then wipe off any excess, or all of it and start again.  What colour is your Ed30 by the way, as some colours are easier to touch up than others?

be thankful it's not a parking ding! I'm dreading those!!

I think the cocktail stick method is perhaps best but it does depend on the size. Just build it up little by little and don't rush!

Sorry to hear the news though!

Just to make you feel a little better, my dad bought his new car (BMW 1 series) and two days after buying it a bottle fell from the back of  wagon on the M61 and smashed his headlight, bounced of the bonnet and hit the windscreen! Thankfully noone was hurt but the car had to have a new o/s headlight and repair work / paint to the bonnet!

He WAS gutted.

Good repair mind you! and the car is black!

Hatrick,
Just sent you an IM but not sure you can receive it as you don't have 10 posts yet.  Just wanted to say I know how you feel.  I had a new Fiat Coupe a few years ago, red as well, and a stone decided to pebble dash the bonnet when I had less than a thousand miles on the clock.   Touched it up myself but you could still tell if you looked close enough.  Like a said, if its not too big have a go yourself, otherwise see if a good bodyshop can have a go.  Last resort if its really bad is to get it resprayed, not something you want to do on a new car I know, but the colour match would be identical as the car is so new.
