no thanks illyan , ill stick with my 5 star rated motor cheers, that handles better, that doesnt come with pap wheels, worse on fuel econamy, costs more to insure, and isnt much an improvement in looks and a few self adhesive badges(on ebay for £2.75 btw), sorry just my opinion, i really hope you FINALLY find something u keep for more then a month. Really think the R32 ,you should of kept.Black editon 30 looks the same as a standard Black one
I see by your long list of motors , it takes alot to please ya! stop being such a jerk By being such a jerk trying to annoy
these are abit of a bargain for the i think and more at a realistic price. Id be shocked if you sell them for £750 starting bid!

if I had the spare readies, I'd buy those as a spare set and pop some sticky summer tyres on them...I'll wait and see what bonus I get paid next month :)

Phil - Give the guy a break...he's trying to recoup some of his costs, and compared to standard dealer prices, they're good value for someone replacing damaged/kerbed wheels

If you don't like the price and have no interest in buying them, then do the decent thing and don't post

Phope, ok about replacing a curbed alloy but would u buy a full set of 4 in the chance you scuff one??, heard of repair or cost of a single replacement ,
what i would do,as this forum is for posting opinions , is keep the pescaro wheels in a box, for when he resells the gti in a couple of years, then sell the black ones, they would be a more popular choice to most rather then those. For a quicker sale, id reduce the set reserve price. Your more likely to off load them or at least put some cheap tyres/part used on there.

Phil, I was really thinking you'd lost the plot, but you've redeemed yourself in the last post, that WAS sensible!

Ollieb7, I do think the price is a little steep but you may as well see what happens first and if no one bids it won't cost you anything to relist with a lower reserve (Obviously adding tyres will cost you over £400 for budget tyres!)

All the best though, and remember some of the watchers will be us!!

Phil i think you're being a bit harsh. The wheels are very new to the market and will appeal to someone, I'd sell them at a high price then reduce it if they don't sell. It only takes 1 buyer!

Also I find it very strange that you lay into the Edition 30 with such force, only to frequently tag on the end that you may get one in a year at a slightly cheaper cost. If you don't like it, why buy it?

And thats from a fellow Gti (nearly) driver!

Illyun - I reckon your Edition 30 is the best looking one I've seen. I find the lighter colours looks a little plastic and bland, but each to his own.

Well, if you compare the price ollieb7 is offering, with what is available on the internet generally (for "non vw" bbs alloys), i think the price is reasonable.

Ooooopss Â… seems I should be more careful what I say.  Sorry, but honestly no offence intended Phil.  It was just a bit of light banter on my part – but I obviously hit a raw nerve.  As for the many cars IÂ’ve gone through, its true I am quite fussy but you get Mk1Â’s and Mk2Â’s in all sorts of condition nowadays and me being completely ignorant about the cars back in 2005 decided that it was the only way to goÂ…  If I could, IÂ’d have a couple of them back

The R32 though canÂ’t stay in my garage because it will end up with an astronomical mileage by September which will translate into astronomical depreciation and fuel costs.  Plus the fact that the GTI is an iconic car – more so than the R32, it is limited edition in Edition 30 guise and I plan to keep it for a long long time which means that for me it makes more sense in every way – depreciation, fuel costs, insurance, future green taxes that will hit owners of car like the R32 hard and the fact that the GTI is more fun to drive (even though the R32 is a beast of a car)
