VW Price Hikes
« on: 22 February 2007, 11:48 »
Just been looking through the VW website and realised that not only has the Edition 30 price gone up from what it was advertised at in October, but also the price of every option that I chose - most of them! - has gone up by £20-50 for each option   It basically means that I would have had to pay about £300-350 more than expected which really pi55ed me off. So I rang the local stealer - Wolsey Ipswich in this case - and was told that as I had ordered the car before January, I would pay the old prices   But for some of you who have ordered after January while calculating using the old prices, there will be a bit more to pay.

'Price protected'?  I've heard that phrase used by my stealer today - you sure you don't work for a stealer?

I would have thought that once you've signed a legal contract and paid a deposit, then that's the price you pay regardless of later price hikes.

Thats what I thought - and confirmed by ringing VW today... however, when I bought my 06 plate GTI I was charged a bit extra as the prices had changed - maybe they just knew I was a mug and ripped me off?  :embarassed:
