MK4 1.8 T GTI Dump Valve Query

Hi there people, first post 

Just a quick one really, I pick up my new mark 4 golf gti turbo (150bhp) on Saturday and I am wanting to fit a dump valve on it?

Is this a stupid idea as it causes a lot of complications or can it be done quite easily?

I have been looking at the Bailey DV26 'EVO' or the Bailey DV36 'Venturi' - Any recommendations??

Fair enough but i was after more of an opinion on either the DV26 or DV36 from people that own them? I wasn't just saying im going to put a dump valve on my car what issues will it cause im not bothered about that

Or someone may recommend me a good alternative

Hmm... so after a quick search around, some people do have problems with the air flow meter am i right?

But some of the adverts i have seen for the DV36 state that it is a twin piston model which solves problems to do with air flow meters - so would one of these be suitable and hassle free?

So then... The Forge 007p seems to be the one to go for paired with a pipercross induction kit, does this give an audible whooooshh sound?     

I don't want it really loud, just loud enough so that it is audible to the exterior

get a recirc valve and save your maf.

the standard bosch recirc valve will give the audible whoosh when an after market cone filter is fitted, although you will be sucking in hot air without a heat shield.

Cool nice one thanks for the replies - didn't realise these engines used a recirc valve otherwise i wouldnt have posted a stupid question 

Probably go for the pipercross induction kit then and try and sort some sort of heat shield out for it!

Going to pick it up in the morning anyway so will prob start a thread and post some pics
