the body work is getting pretty tatty on my car in places, needs a new bootlid, bonnet has a brake fluid spill on it, driver's door has a dink in it, small spots of surface rust in places here & there

anyhow, took it to this fella on satruday and he said he'd do the heap for ?800

i can get a bootlid for ?25

does ?800 sound a good price

It sounds the top end of reasonable IMO. You should be expecting a quality job for that money.
