Went drop the insurance off at the dealers.

Can i ask why you needed to do this? Was it for tax? Reason i am asking is because, obvilously, i want my Ed.30 as soon as possible and if they need the insurance docs before they can tax it and then hand over i would rather try to sort it out sooner rather than later.

As far as I am aware you need to do this with any new car to get it taxed.

I am willing to be corected, I have only bought 1 car from new before!

Simonet- the build week for my car was 4 if that helps and yes I took my Insurance in so that the car can be taxed. Dealers can apparently tax vehicles early like around now for the 1st March. Oh by the way, some pics I have seen on this site showed Ed 30 with Bridgestone Potenza's on. I have said this before, too noisy for me these tyres, I looked at my Ed 30 yesterday and its got Continental's  on, thank God. So its a week tomorrow then  been clearing plenty of space in my garage this morning. I have a double but you know what wives are like, its "put it in the garage " with everything at my house.
By the way anyone need a starter car for their rug rat, my runaround is going next Thursday, its a Fiesta Ghia 1300 on an N ( roundy shape) with a recon engine, usual spec, very reliable, good mpg and low insurance, want around £700 for it

Thanks for that, I've just phoned the dealer and they say it's still at the port 

He says they have put it on a priority ship date (mmm... we'll see)

So none the wiser at the mo. To think it was built only 2 weeks after yours I was hoping it would arrive for the 1st of March.... more time to waste on here I guess

Damn... I forgot to look at what tyres I had.  Can't go back to the dealers - they'ill think I'm really strange.

They get quite good reviews, even an MG owner (can't be bothred to mention exactly what car) says they are good, so he must be right...... musn't he? 

I'm sure they'll be fine, and anyway, if not you can have fun wearing them out!!

I have heard good reviews for the Continentals - but not the Bridgestones... oh well, I will just have to wear them out like you say
