to tangle with the cosworth lot you need to get a 20vt in there. put it in your current car, should cost about 4k, spend the rest on wheels, coilovers and interior and then save a bit more and get the paint work sorted. a re-mapped BAM engine will be good for 270bhp which is plenty in a mk2.

If I do something with a g60 (already converted) What sort of mottor's would it take out??
Just don't find my 8v a thrill any more, it's fun but once I got used to its power I soon thought to myself its not as fast as I always thought as a kid. after all the Mk2 has always been may all time fave car.

My paint work is looking its age on my 8v so.....? suppose that would need doing if I end up keeping the car.

I've been quoted 1500 for a g60 conversion Mk2, so a 20v prob be a fair bit more. I need to check that out really.

Hope a good 90s spec mottor pops up soon with most things done ie coilovers, brakes, deep dish wheels, g60 arches, clean blk paint work, then all I need to do is the engine, interior & the innovative mods ie when it gets dark the head lamps switch on automatically ( easy / cheap & impress my mates.) and a few others I won't mention  :smug:

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

one question, why have you used a diesel crank? surely they are much heavier than normal

Diesel crank got long throw to give you extra cc's. You can get 83.5 or 84mm pistons but that means thinning cyl block wall. Also those pistons cost furtune and finding them pretty hard and costly. Car revvs to limiter no less than when it was standard even better as just fitted kent cam, And got super chip to fit yet. On the cost of car swiss not sure as yet as not finished it to my standard. May decide to keep it yet, I sold my bmw M3 for this to get back in the dub seen.  I'll have to see when finally finished
