Starter Motors

The starter motor on my n reg 1.8 se is on its way out, been quoted £85 for a new one. However there is a mk3 gti colour concept just come into a local scrappy. Just wondering if i could put the one off the colour concept onto mine, saving me forking out for a new one.

they are similar and will fit no problem....my 8v has a 1.8 starter on as i had one knocking about (that cost me penny's when i worked in the trade and luckily most 1.8 part's are identical to 2.0 one's)

one bit of advice....when you remove the long bolt that hold's the starter on,this also holds the front engine mount!!!
