Making my 16v a bit quicker!
« on: 10 February 2007, 16:31 »
1990 mk2 16v. It doesnt feel very quick although I've not had it head to head with anything yet, but was wondering what I could do without spending huge amounts of money!

Its fitted with a Magnex system and a K&N panel filter. What else is recommended please?

Ive done the search function but cannot find anything suitable...

Thanks,
John

Firstly if it's not feeling quick and you're not stepping down from a 500bhp monster expecting maybe more than she has to offer I'd initially say a good rolling raod session to get it setup is a first .... The timing and fueling is critical to these cars.

Depending on your mechnical skills and / or location look at including the WUR Mod (searchable in the forum) too.

A well setup valver in good mechnical condition with the mods you've got should be 150 bhp with the WUR mod and feel alot better than you're reporting !!

Dave.

Thanks Dave....I am planning a RR session and probably go to Dubsport for that as I need my MK1 doing too.

I'll look at the mod you recommend also.

Thanks again,
John

And, no, I dont have any monster 500bhp...I wish - only a 190bhp V6 3.0 CDTi Vectra Estate....
