top adj suspension setting
« on: 09 February 2007, 15:39 »
wondering how everybody else has theirs set for everyday driving.  I've got Koni top adjustables, and when I bought the car they were all set half way. they are two full turns from soft to firm.  at this setting I thought they were a little hard for everyday driving, so I've softened the fronts another half turn which feels a little better..

I'm not to knowledgeable when it comes to handling etc so wondered what everybody else thinks.  Is it better to have harder rear, or front, or best to have same all round?

I find that having the rear slightly softer allows the backend to follow through the corner more naturally for the car. Plus it means it's less likely to lose grip suddenly...

Try the backs a quarter of a turn softer than the front and see how that goes, worked wonders on my old car. Although I think I had the fronts set a little bit harder than you have...

will give that a go tomorrow, I gave it a thrashing down some country lanes today in the wet, and it didn't feel all that good, so will try your suggestion.

thanks
