to uprate pistons or not you decide

hi im doing a 2.0l 2e block conversion on my gti heads been ported polished gasflowed and a piper gs2h cam kit fitted got a recon gearbox and im having the block recon new rings bearings lightend balanced arp bolts now im undecided if i should leave the pistons standard or fit je pistons do you guys think the extra cost £450 ish is worth it or do i even need uprated pistons? ill let you guys decide for me PS: this car is for daily road use but will get driven hard

i have a similar sort of engine in my car, but went for a re-bore with larger pistons, which was the only reason i changed them. i bought kobelschmitt pistons as they are an OE supplier to vw anyway and i drive my car hard too. yours should be fine but if you can afford it, it wont do any harm to get them!

thanks mate im gonna go for it gives more scope for tuning later on as ive been thinking about fitting nos later on. your project page is a great read awesome car hope the conversion goes well mate

cool, thanks alot! my pistons turned up on friday!! :P for little blocks of aluminium, they are quite sexual!
