Phope you're taking it quite well - I'd be ballistic   I wouldn't be that bothered if I was only keeping my Edition 30 for a year or less - like my 06 GTI or 56 R32 - but I'm keeping the Edition 30 for life or at least thts my intention.  Its going to be a weekend car and not a daily driver, with the mileage kept low - not 10k in 2 months like the R32   So it has to arrive as planned with everything I ordered in place.

if it was the xenons, armrest or parking sensors, I'd be livid, and would tell them to shove it

It is annoying, but not a dealbreaker...will see if I can wangle some other goodies out of them

Not being funny here, but what would you do if you received your car with the multi-function wheel fitted and the circuit board controlling it malfunctioned?

You would send it in to your dealer for repair/replacement right? And the process they would carry out?....It would be exactly the same as retro fitting the circuit board and new steering wheel.

All the same steps would have to be taken, all the same trim would need to be removed. Hell, read that "How to" on vortex and you'll see you have to take the steering wheel off just to remove the lower ignition cowl or wiper stalk (exactly the same as in a mk4).

This will be a very simple task for an experienced VW technician, and I would certainly have no hesitation in having this done if the dealer is agreeing to meet the additional cost of retro-fit because of their mistake.

You trust these guys to build the cars in the first place, and then service them - this is surely a walk in the park? (or am I missing something?)

I assume you have the manual rather than the DSG as would be a shame to have DSG without the flappy paddles!

  • B7 RS4 & 65 split,

My Edition 30 has had something missed by the dealer at time of ordering into system

Funny that - i lost out on my highline computer as the salesman doesn't check his e-mails! By the time i found this out the order had been processed!

Did the dealer tell you two weeks Phope? He seems to be much more conversant with you than me!

Maybe I've just been annoying them more the last week or two

I'm told it will be available for 1st March delivery no problem...so I'm guessing it will be available at dealer in a week or two

I just had a sudden heart palpitating moment.

If you order the multi function steering wheel, you automatically get the highline computer correct?  That is how I read it....

Yes - to quote the options list: "Multifunction steering wheel including Highline multifunction computer" although you can specify the highline computer on its own with the standard steering wheel for £50
