Obd1 on mk3's is a 4 pin (I believe) connector located in the driver's footwell
Obd2 is the long multi pin connector located on the dash (next to the ashtray)

Could be wrong loom???....If it's from about 95 onward's it's obd2 but if the loom came from the same 2e engine is has to be obd1 as this is the early gti 8v engine with bosch injection

I am fitting a mk3 2e engine in a mk2 using the mk3 engine loom and the mk3 dash loom, just need to connect the mk3 engine loom to the mk3 dash loom, so I can use the obd1.  The connectors from the engine loom are female and the connectors from the 2+2 obd1 loom are female?  do the connect into a terminal block first or somthing?
