« on: 02 February 2007, 07:58 »
i hope someone can help me, i own a golf gti but my friend has a w reg 1.2 16v corsa that is playing up, at anytime of the day when the engine is hot or cold it will start to struggle like its losing power but after a while the power will kick in again, she had it at a garage and they said it was something to do with the fuel pipes and she may as well get rid. i have tried joining the corsa c forum but aint received my activation email yet. any help will be great.

My mate had a similiar problem with his Nova (similiar engine type). His was due to crap getting into the engine from the petrol tank, he had a filter fitted to sort it out.
Virtually everything I know about the workings of the internal combustion engine can be written on the back of a small stamp with a large marker

First depends if the garage plugged it into a puter, my mum's corsa did that twice, complete loss of power jumping all over he road, turned out the fuel to air mixture sensor wasnt working.

second thing is the fuel pipes, try putting a filter on the pipe that comes from the fuel tank or before it gets to the engie, just run it for 10 mins, or even do a small circuit in it and check the filter for any crap, if it gets blocked quite badly then yeah you might as well get rid of it because a majority of that crap will be lying in the engine, unless you fancy stripping it down. If there is no crap in the filter then i'm not sure what else it could be.
