Tyre Pressures
« on: 01 February 2007, 13:03 »
Hi dubbers, someone told me if you have low profile tyres you should keep the pressures higher, I have 205/40/17's. when i got the car there was 48 psi in them, but the ride was very harsh with my lowered springs, so I dropped em down to 30psi. trouble is i think i may have flat spotted 1 of my rims after hitting a pothole like a valley..   is this common...have you guys ever damaged any of your rims by hittin pot holes???. also i need a new rear wiper for my mk3 gti. any recommendations for a better looking 1 than the original. ....maybe 1 of a skoda or audi??????

Cheers

Ian

Is it a gti mate? I see it has the grill
If so run 32 in the front and if its just u in the car run 29 in the back.
yes u can bend rims on pot holes I suspect you have bent the back of the rim, you might be able to get it staightened.#
I fit tyres for living and have done for 6 years lol

Thanks for the reply Briggs-e. yes it is a GTI (only an 8v though ).
I got a week off work now, so I'll take the rims off and have good look at them, they were on the car when I bought it, it took me months to ID them, turns out they are DNA wheels sold by motorworld .
I don't know if this means they arn't very good quality or not. I'm considering getting some RS4 replicas frome Awesome GTI, if I do then I'll try and have these straightened.
