Advice on purchasing a reliable 96 GTI/VR6
« on: 22 January 2004, 22:50 »
I'm hoping I'm in the right area for my question?

Just been flicking through an Auto Trader & have been looking at changing my 2001 VW Passatt for a '96 GTI or VR6 (Insurance Pending). Does anybody have reliable advice on dealers / Web Reviews or Magazines where I can pull information so as I don't buy a piece of junk...

The Passatt's too executive & want something smaller, but not a Corsa! I'm moving out of home, so the price ranges of a '96 fit in with my plans.

I live in Birmingham, but would travel to right dealer to view or get further info.

I'd rather be safe & buy froma reputed dealer, paying a touch extra or even an enthusiast, that isn't a speed pilot.

Any advice or info greatly appeciated.
Andy.

Hello Andy,

Try Omega Motor Vehicles
www.omvltd.co.uk

They are based in Coulsdon, Surrey.

Rac Approved, they know their stuff.

Good luck

It'd be a 16v. I'm not a VW buff. I have one now & like the drive, so wish to stay with them.

Again any info, greatly appreciated.
