Mk2 archwork
« on: 30 January 2007, 18:40 »
My problem is I have 17" wheels (cant remember pcd) and lowered 60mm (g-max springs and shocks)
Is archwork expensive? the wheels rub on the outer side. will i also have to trim the plastic arches?

any info on the subject is mucho appreciated

btw is it easy to do or is there a guide anywhere?

i have rubbing issues as well on the back with my ats cups, a previous owner has had 17's on the back or something similar so most of the plastic arch is already well worn or not there at all. Im going to drill out the plastic rivets to remove the rear arch roll the metal lip out and up, put a bit of sealer there for rust purposes as i will prob chip the paint then trim the plastic lip on the spats back, and finally sikaflex on the rear arch. hopefully this will cure it, as most of the work will be covered by the arch spat whereas if it was just a normal metal arch it would prob look messy.
