1.8T Engine Specs
« on: 29 January 2007, 13:59 »
Hi,

I have an MK4 Golf 1.8T. This is not it's original engine though, it originally had a 1.4cc engine. I then swapped its original for a 1.8T, supposedly. Does anybody know how and where I can find the specs for my engine?

My car's details are as follows:
- VIN: wvwzzz1jzyd137549
- Engine #: 53327
- Chassis #: 137549

It's suspected that the engine is not an original VW engine, but rather an Audi one.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Amr

Audi is VAG, mate, so will likely be the same engine as found in the Golf, anyway (unless it's from an S3, of course!)

Yeah, I know that and that's what I first said, but it seems that both cars, Audi & VW, use different driveshafts. Because the way the engine was installed in my car, they sort of made a couple of half-Audi half-Golf driveshafts to put the engine in.

The Audi-half is the one that comes from the engine and the Golf-half is the one connected to the wheels. That's why I'm saying that it's suspected that the engine was sourced from an Audi.

Can anybody help?

Thanks mates
