golf 8v still to lack any power

my golf gti mk3 on a preg seems to be lacking any real pace i think a fiesta cud beat it and that it bad. ive had the old cutting problem and it had coil,cap,rotor,relays. but just lately it seems really flat. ive put a new temp sensor that i brough from germany swedish on but it just dont seem right and ideas

you've not had the cam belt changed recently? does it rev to the red line?
Are there any splits in any breather pipes?

no it aint had it belt done but i have had the distribtor out as i had the problem with it cutting out. i think ill have to cambelt it as it was done at 80000 and it now done 102000

I'm having similar woes and running out of garages to diagnose the problem effectively -
