You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

This is my September 1992 K Plate 16V.

So far I've really only tinkered with it to get it usable but theres lots more work to be done yet and far more rust than the photo hints at unfortunately.

In good company with my Mk V GT TDI and a Neighbours Mk IV

Just treated myself to this as a 'sensible' daily

Havent had much to do with watercooled dubs, ive had countless aircooled beetles etc over the years, and a T4 van, but this is my first golf. (unless you count the crashed mk3 tdi estate at the top of my drive that I bought as an engine donor for the T4 )

What I know about the car is that it has a 2 litre passat bottom end (dont know what engine code) with the 8 valve head and a fast road cam, and a few audi bits and bobs on it, stainless exhaust etc. The rear end is straight off a mk3 VR6, with 100mm springs, and the front is the usual (so I'm told) mix of VR6/G60 bits, and rides on new beetle 16" steels, and coilovers. And thats about as much as I know about it so far

A couple of pictures of my Golf GTI 8V, doesnt get used much only covered just over 1000 miles last year

Ive had the car just over a year and have completed a lot of work including new suspension all round, new standard exhaust system, re-upholstered drivers seat, overhauled the cylinder head and only yesterday changed the gearbox oil which got rid of the sticking gear change.
Had a paint job last year as someone had keyed the complete near side, replacement cobra alarm system, all I have left to do now is clean & polish
