Newbie...

Hello, just thought i would show some pics of my new chariot.  I used to have a mk1 clio (in the background of one of the pics) however due to me buying a house i have had to sell on, however i needed another car as a daily drive and...

This just seemed to fit the bill really.

MK3 VW Golf 1.4 Ryder
93k
FSH
1993 L Reg
3 Door
Alloys
GTI Arches

Seemed perfect, shame its only 4 speed and doesnt have PAS, but as a daily its perfect. I had to get a new middle section exhaust and the brakes sorted which actually turned out more than i expected but ah well it will do until i get a better job.

I dont plan to mod it in anyway, however if i am feeling a little flush one month i probs will get some clear indicators and maybe some colour coded bumpers, there hard to come by tho  .

does it have leccy indows? if so i guess c/l would be included. If not, then probably no.

If you lock your door from the inside the other will lock if you have c/l.

One sure way to tell is to open the boot, and look behind the drivers side tail light, there will be a big lump of styrofoam bungeed to the rear of the light cluster, about the size of a brick. This is the C/L pump. If you have that you have C/L, if not, you dont.

If you have this, leave it alone! Its awkward to refit if you release the bungee and its too heavy to rattle around loose cos it'll brea the wires or the airpipe. Looks stoopid btw like they added it as an afterthought, I might box mine in properly lol

Nice wee car too btw. Very clean for a 93. Priming the bumpers and spraying wi acrylic paint in the same colour would be cheaper than replacing them...

I dont have Leccy windows, and i checked for the pump and i dont have one.  Might look at getting the bits to fit.  Its annoying not having central locking

its quite involved but not impossible. Get a scrapped GTi in a breakers and take all the bits from that.

Or buy an aftermarket C/L kit (not air operated)
