Fuel lines
« on: 21 January 2007, 12:05 »
The gti i bought last week looks like it could do with the fuel lines replacing before they rot through and give me bigger problems. My k plate mk1 caddy has plastic lines so was wondering whether they fitted plastic lines to late cabby's aswell. If they did are cabby fuel lines the same as tin tops?

Not as far as I know, later cabbies had an in tank pump also so the lines arn't quite the same.
If you wanted a set off a cabby, you'll need the lift pump & lines, and maybe the tank too, though you could probably get away with blocking off the outlets on your old tank :)

Edit: Is the caddy that much underneath to a tintop, perhaps you could use the lines off one?

Dont think the caddy lines are long enough from the top of my head.
Looks like i better save some cash up for them expensive braided jobbies or i'll just wait til i see some used for sale.
