golfs all spluttery

after putting in some petrol (admittedly it was very low) the car wouldnt pull away without stalling and when i changed gear it was jumpy and had no power unless i hit very high revs
i thought it might have been some dirt in the fuel system but this would have gone after a couple of minutes burning but after about 15 minutes of driving it was still there
i have to use the car this afternoon so any info on what you think it mite be would be great

Had a similar problem, garage told me throttle body was dirty and needed to be cleaned, seemed to have done the job.

fuel filter is easy peasy to replace if needs be. check the simple things first, air filter, fueling, sparking - might be worth a quick sparkie clean.

yeah its a driver. recently changed plugs, leads and air filter. ran the car today and it seems to be running fine. so whatever it was seems to have sorted itself out. but am still going to get it looked at by a neighbours mate. he tunes car for a living so he said he will do mine as a favour.
