Wheel arch trim ripped off by yesterdays winds!

Hey guys, got back to my car after work last night and noticed that the winds yesterday had ripped off the wheel arch trim on the rear wheel, passenger side! If im honest it had been a little loose already due to some nasty rust patches. Can anyone recommend a good way to reattach it as i havnt got the foggiest!

if there arnt any holes in the arches to attach it with, you'll have to stick it down with silicone sealant

I find silicone is a good quick fix, but as I say 'quick fix' don't shout @ meif it flys off on the mway  

yeah had really bad winds up 'ere too (NW) nieghbours roof tiles flying onto our drive! luckily Iparked my golf on the street the night before (cos I'm lazy   )

anyways goodluck with your re-attachment maybe a wiser and more knowledgeable member of this forum will tell you the right way  to do it soon

you need to find a good balance between 'strong' and 'permanent'
You don't want to use summat so sticky that the arch will never come off ever again, but you want it strong enough so it doesn't blow away again

Ideally you want to mount it with rivets, but if theres no arch left this may be tricky...

Well the rust is pretty bad round the arch under where the trim used to be. Ive had a look at where the rivets were and its not looking good! Not much there to attach them to anymore.

Can you recommend a silicone sealant rubjonny?

look for something like 'mastic' or 'tiger seal'

these are generally used to fit side skirts and spoiler, so im sure they would be fine for arch trims, ive used it to attach mesh to bumpers and its class stuff.... just remember to wipe the excess (if there is any) off when its still wet

I usually use my "magic" self tapping screws. I think they're M8x10mm.
Between those and gaffer tape, it keeps our old dub going...
