Re carpet
« on: 17 January 2007, 21:26 »

Im after replacing the carpet in my caddy and just wondered if anyone has some hints or tips for the job?

Im not going to buy proper vehicle carpet im just gonna get some £3 a square metre stuff from carpet right or something.
It used to belong to a farmer and the sole reason for the job is to freshen the thing up as the whole sheep piss smell is still around I fear.

It looks like a proper easy job but is there anyway of getting it to fit over the centre arch nicely as I want to fit it in one piece. (like scoring the underside of the carpet with a stanley blade)

Also how much is this duramat stuff??

thankyou!

Not gonna be easy, the flooring is a vary awkward shape!
I think carpet from the front of a MK1 tintop will fit?

If you try and use normal carpet you will have great problems of fit. There are loads of double internal corners that you could only do with a piping corner. A great deal of work!

car carpets are formed to shape, so best if you could find some better ones from a scrappy.
